A different kind
of cleaning liquid.
Dry cleaning uses a specialised liquid solvent to loosen oils and dirt. At Ohana, we use hydrocarbon solvent rather than relying on brushing or blowing.

Why not ordinary
washing?
Some garments can shrink, lose shape or bleed colour during ordinary washing. The suitable method depends on the fabric, construction and care label.

Cleaned, dried
and finished.
Garments are cleaned in a specialised machine. The solvent is removed during drying, then the garment is finished. “Dry” means water is not the main cleaning liquid.

Why we choose hydrocarbon
We use hydrocarbon solvent rather than perc, a traditional dry-cleaning solvent associated with health and environmental concerns. Our approach avoids using perc as the main cleaning solvent, while selecting suitable care for each garment.
The solvent is one part of the process. Appropriate equipment, handling and garment assessment also matter.

Does every delicate item need dry cleaning?
No. The appropriate method depends on the individual garment. Hand washing is available for suitable pieces through Specialty Services.
Can every stain be removed?
Not every stain can be fully removed. Results depend on the stain, the fabric and any treatment already applied. Tell us what happened so we can discuss your item.
